The Sefer ha-Bahir (The Book of Illumination) is one of the oldest and most important classic texts of the Kabbalah, the mystical tradition of Judaism. Some scholars even consider it to be the oldest written Kabbalistic text.

Until the publication of the Sefer ha-Zohar (The Book of Splendor), The Bahir was the main source of information on Kabbalistic teachings, being the most influential and widely cited work.

This great work, along with the Sefer ha-Zohar and the Sefer Yetzirah, constitutes the fundamental pillars of the Kabbalistic tradition.
