This book is a project that Dona Lídia began 3 years earlier, starting merely as an idea that gradually took shape.

In Receitas da Lídia – em detalhes (Lídia's Recipes – in Detail), Dona Lídia presents 51 varied recipes, including appetizers, soups, main courses, and especially desserts, her personal favorites.

A chemist by profession, throughout her 80 years she treated her recipes like a "laboratory," testing and perfecting them.

When she was younger, whenever someone asked for a recipe, she disliked sharing it for two reasons. First, due to a family tradition of keeping recipes strictly under lock and key. Second, because she wanted to have every single detail laid out for whoever was going to cook it, so that once finished, they could say, "this is a recipe by Lídia."

Now, in her later years, she was able to assemble this book, sharing the recipes she has always made for family and friends. Every single one was prepared specifically to note down every crucial detail in the step-by-step process, ensuring that when followed, the dishes turn out just as if she had made them herself.
